What is Real
In 2014 the London council closed down Madame Jojo’s in Soho.
Madame Jojo’s since the 1950s has been an integral part of the history of the area. These pictures were taken in one of the last shows, a few nights before the venue was forced to close its doors forever. They are a celebration and a memorial of everything that it represented; everything that was real, burlesque and queer.
You can find some of these pictures published here.
